Literacy forms a great part of every school day in the primary school classroom which sets a great foundation for the students. At Practical PD we believe this curriculum area presents wonderful opportunities to provide design and digital technology into every lesson based on the confidence level of the teacher. We have developed a full day workshop to explore how to integrate design and digital technology into the primary school classroom from Kindergarten through to Year 6.
Why the Literacy Curriculum needs to integrate Design and Digital technology.
To motivate the general primary school classroom teacher to explore the use of digital tools in the Literacy classroom we need to provide many examples of how the digital age is heavily affecting the students’ world. Through discussion, collaboration, thought provoking research and motivating video we open the teachers minds to power of the new tools and their simple integration into Literacy.
Explore and Play
There is an amazing variety of digital tools now available to schools and to students to motivate them to think creatively, critically and develop high order problem solving skills which stimulate amazing Literacy development. Our consultant will lead the teachers through a journey of motivating, fun and practical examples how to integrate the tools into every Literacy lesson.
Create and Prepare
So many Professional Learning workshops excite and motivate teachers but do not encourage or develop the opportunity for teachers to spend time creating a series of lessons/ activities to be able to take back to their classroom and immediately implement into the classroom. This is why Practical PD believes we are so renowned and acclaimed as we ensure every teacher who attends the workshop creates amazing learning opportunities to enhance their Literacy classroom using motivating digital tools that integrate with the Literacy Curriculum.
