Lesson One:
Sports Equipment is being left out around the school. Find a way to use the Edison robot to collect the equipment.
Introduce the problem
Brainstorm solutions.
Experiment and play with Edison robot.
Lesson Two:
Where does our robot have to go?
Map the school area.
List different surfaces, slopes and obstacles. Note coordinates of obstacles.
List the material that will need to be collected.
Lesson Three:
How will the objects be collected or picked up?
Design a robot that can move through the school’s surfaces, navigate obstacles and collect the required materials.
Lesson Four:
What will the robot look like?
Students make the robot’s body with Lego pieces.
Lesson Five:
How will the robot move around the school?
Begin programming how the robot is going to move using edblocks.com
Lesson Six:
What will the robot do with the equipment?
Students program how the robot will pick up or collect the equipment.
Lesson Seven:
Does our robot work?
Does it work? Model and trial students’ solutions.
What do we need to change and refine?
Lesson Eight:

Present solutions to the class and the relevant staff.
