Lesson:

Unit Goal:

Students will build and program an Edison Robot to simulate a gorge rescue and Karijini National Park

ONE:

 

Exploring the functions of the Edison Robot

Students will use the clap sensor, line tracking, obstacle detection, flash light, sound and the music functions

TWO:

 

Using the Edware - Measurement, Time and Rotation

Students will identify and use time, and rotation to operate Edison Robot

Measuring Edison along a set track using time and speed

Rotate Edison to get to a required position

THREE:

 

Using the Edware – focussing on the sound function and flashlight

Identify and use the flashlight and sound functions

Flashlight and sounds are used to complete a set course

Four:

 

Building Edison Rescue vehicle

Students will design a rescue vehicle using Lego and Edison robot

FIVE:

 

Building Edison Rescue vehicle

Test and identify improvement to of design

Evaluate effectiveness of design

SIX:

 

Coding the Edison Rescue vehicle

Students will use coding using Edware

Create program to complete rescue mission, create by the teacher

Seven:

 

Coding the Edison Rescue vehicle

Students will use coding using Edware

Trial and improve design, solving problems if and when they arise

EIGHT:

 

Karijini Rescue – Can you rescue your LEGO man from Dales Gorge

Identify success and improvement of your Edison Rescue vehicle
