Brainstorm what it takes to navigate Sphere through an obstacle course.

Using materials found in the classroom, begin designing a course for Sphero, adding interesting obstacles, pathways and passages.

Determine how fast a Sphero can travel and how it will move through the maze. What instruments will you use to record and measure the speed?

In partners, design the course and its path on grid paper, listing the materials they will use for obstacles. Students will need to include distances and angles.

Write directions for instructions for the Sphero to move through the maze. Make the codes using the Sphero App.

Test the program and modify as needed.

Use Sphero to navigate the maze using directional language given by a partner.
